Download, update the definitions, and run weekly if you are an average surfer and more often if you are a heavy surfer.
Keep these updated or they will be useless pieces of software.
To see whats running on your machine and to see if anything is trying to load in from undercover you can put WinPatrol On Duty.
For those of you running Windows NT, 2000, or XP here are a couple links you might be interested in to turn off Windows Messanger. Windows Messenger is used to load popups to your desktop through a back door. This will not affect AIM, Yahoo Messanger, MSN Messenger, or any of the other major messengers used. It will only turn off a hole that was developed when Microsoft created the intra-office messenger. This link will lead to the Messenger-Contol information and download page.
