Note that in the second case i will need an external power supply, and it will consume more power, but i will have a better processor choice.
Either are good options i was thinking about getting the Ion because it pretty much has everything included (minus the hard drive, ram, DVD/Blu Ray drive and case which you will need for either setup.) And if your only using it as a media center that’s all your going to need. If your going to be doing some lite gaming as well then i would bump up to the 775 socket as long as it has the nvidia graphics because the intel on board graphics is not that great for gaming and high def processing.
